What is UV400?
1% UV penetration and it's harmful effects on the skin.
Ultraviolet Radiation (UV) mainly comes from the Sun. UV radiation is divided into 4 different categories based on wavelength.
-
UVt-Max (380-400 nm): Most dangerous for human body and (living and nonliving) every things. Causes of skin cancer, skin aging, eye damage. Only UV400 window film can block this wavelengths.
-
UV-A (320-380 nm): Can penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin and is responsible for the immediate tanning effect. Furthermore, it also contributes to skin ageing and wrinkling.
-
UV-B (280-320 nm): It enhances skin aging and significantly promotes the development of skin cancer. Most solar UV-B is filtered by the atmosphere.
-
UV-C (100-280 nm): Filtered by the ozone layer, and so the levels of UV-C radiation reaching the earth’s surface are relatively small.
UV400 is a form of UV radiation protection associated with window tinted film. It could provide 100% protection against harmful UV rays of light up to a wavelength of 400 nm. UV400 has a higher level of protection than other types of tinted film.
A lot of people might think that the difference between a 99% UV rejection rate and a 100% UV rejection rate is jut that 1% gap. But, this 1% difference can have undesirable consequences, which are photo-luminescence condensation, inhibition of immune system functions, melanin growth on skin, long term exposure leads to skin cancer, and cataract formation in eyes.
Most window film products in the current market have high heat rejection rates, but their ability to reject UV rays only up to 99% at wavelength of 360 nm. Our UV400 window films, however, could reject UV rays at a wavelength of 400 nm with 100% efficiency, ensuring the skin is protected against UV damage.

Delivering enhanced performance and a richer UV protection experience.
